L’approche de Foundation Medicine® permet un examen approfondi du génome tumoral

L’approche globale du profilage génomique de Foundation Medicine®* s’appuie sur la technologie de séquençage de nouvelle génération (NGS) qui permet d'analyser des altérations  du génome tumoral pouvant ne pas être détectées par d'autres tests.1–13

Le profilage génomique large détecte les quatre principales catégories d’altérations génomiques - substitutions de bases, insertions ou délétions, modifications du nombre de copies  et réarrangements de gènes - dans un ensemble de 324 gènes connus pour être impliqués dans le cancer, et permet de renseigner la charge mutationnelle tumorale (TMB ou bTMB) et l'instabilité microsatellitaire (MSI).†1–7

Notre rapport clair et approfondi peut aider à orienter la prise de décision clinique en fournissant des informations sur le profil génomique du patient, ainsi que sur les thérapies ciblées et les immunothérapies associées aux altérations identifiées et les essais cliniques pertinents auxquels le patient pourrait être admissible.14

Le rapport met également en évidence les gènes d’intérêt liés à la maladie pour lesquels aucune altération n'a été identifiée, ainsi que des altérations génomiques associées à une résistance potentielle à la thérapie, afin d'écarter les traitements potentiellement inefficaces.14

*Le profilage génomique large est une approche de séquençage de nouvelle génération (NGS) capable de détecter à la fois les variants nouveaux et déjà connus, en incluant toutes les classes d'altérations génomiques (substitutions de bases, insertions et délétions, modifications et réarrangements du nombre de copies) ainsi que les signatures moléculaires (ex : charge mutationnelle tumorale [TMB] et charge mutationnelle tumorale sur le sang [bTMB] ), l’instabilité  microsatellitaire ( MSI) ou la perte  d'hétérozygotie (LoH), pour fournir des informations pronostiques, diagnostiques et prédictives qui peuvent éclairer une prise de décision thérapeutique individualisée pour les patients, quel que soit le type de cancer.
